Apple, we're ready for you!!
See, look, we gave you your own room and everything.
 |
| A room of your own! |
We even
painted for you. Well, your dad did. He painted the floor so it'd be smooth and clean, and he painted all the trim too, and even touched up the walls with what we
thought was the same color but it's only a little off so you shouldn't mind too much. It's the only paint we've put to wall in this house, and our bedroom has
sponge-painting in it and the walls are all slightly different from each other, so this shows how much we love you. We
painted for you while we fall asleep resting against
sponge painting.
 |
| We hope you like the colors. |
We hung up photos of some of your family and some paintings from your cousins in Ohio. You'll meet them some day- but only if you come out!
 |
| I potted you up a baby spider plant, too,. |
I picked out some toys for you, and your family back in PA had some goodies kicking around for you too.
 |
| Watch out for that giraffe- it squeaks. |
After much searching and shopping and searching, I finally found you a dresser for your tiny clothes and to keep harmful things out of your reach, like the lamp Joe found for you at Goodwill which matches your room scary-well.
 |
| Best twenty bucks I've ever spent in someone's barn, this dresser. |
There's also the rug your Pa and I rather agonized over, for you. It's thick and soft and made entirely of wool.
 |
| It's one of the nicest things in the house, that rug. You'll enjoy drooling on it, we are sure. |
Though we plan for you to sleep with us in our big bed, we also bought you your own little bed, which is a tiny version of our bed, complete with a tiny version of our bed frame we built for your tiny bed.
 |
| I even bought you a pair of new sheets from the store and everything, in those light ever-so-stainable tones I seem so found of. |
I
made you a mobile to hang above your bed. I really wanted a mirror on the wall by your bed but I haven't found a reasonably priced acrylic mirror yet. I haven't given up yet though, kiddo!
 |
| And I'll put up new things once in a while for you, too. It'll be fun! Come on, you know you want to check it out. |
I sewed you some curtains which have itty little circle-y flowers on them from fabric I bought in a church basement with your great-grandma years ago.
 |
With my patience sewing skills, they're best viewed from a distance. |
I'm so ready to read books with you and show you all the cool stuff there is out here.
 |
| We'll start with the animal kingdom, it seems. |
We even put shelves in your closet to hold all the goodies we have to share with you. Ok, they're mostly books, but that'll be a recurring theme in your life here with us.
 |
| You'll enjoy doing more than chewing on them in due time. |
Your room's even got its own potty. What more could you want, Baby?
 |
| A variety of toileting options! |
We're just kicking around, waitin' for you now. Sometimes I putter around in your room (or lie down in your tiny bed while something's on the stove top- you don't mind, right?) while I wait for you to come a'knockin'. We're as ready for you as we'll ever be, little Apple baby pal. It's on you, now. See you soon?
